The blue-winged warbler
is a truly striking bird, generally yellow all over with a black stripe
through the eye. Similar species are easily discounted by the eye
stripe; the yellow warbler has red
stripes on its breast and the
prothonotary has bluish
wings. This species peaks at Magee in the second week of May and
can be seen as early as late April, but it's not very abundant even at
the peak.
