Magnolia Warbler

The magnolia warbler is one of the most common warblers at Magee Marsh in May, particularly around the middle of the month.  The bird is beautiful and striking in its appearance, with bright yellow and black streaking on its breast, and a strong white stripe just above the eye.  The most similar bird at Magee is the Canada warbler, which has a necklace instead of streaks on its breast, has yellow spectacles, and lacks the white stripe over the eye.
